Brothers to Square Off This Weekend

From the Gazette-Times:

Sheri Levitre’s loyalties are divided this weekend, and she has a fashion dilemma, too.

Navy Blue or Orange?

She bleeds both. Two of her sons will face off when the Oregon State football team clashes with Arizona in a Pacific-10 Conference showdown Saturday afternoon in Reser Stadium. Andy Levitre is a second-string redshirt freshman for both offensive guard and tackle positions for the Beavers (4-3, 2-2). The team hopes to finish the season strong, starting with this game.

Erick Levitre is a junior starting center for the Wildcats (1-6, 0-4), who are desperate for a win. They’ve lost five straight and are out of contention for a bowl game. No matter what the team scenarios are, this is a big game for the Levitres.

“My whole family has been looking forward to the game this season,” Andy said. “There are going to be a lot of people up here for this game. I was disappointed I wasn’t able to travel to Tucson last year. “Sheri Levitre and nearly 20 family members and friends from the Bay Area will be in Corvallis for the event. The Levitres don’t usually attend home games for either sibling. This will be Sheri’s first visit to Corvallis since she dropped Andy off for the first day of fall camp in 2004. “It’s so exciting to be part of this game,” Sheri said. “They respect each other so much, and they are the best of friends.” But what will she wear on this occasion?

Sheri and her mother, Fran Stekoll, decided to make a statement. They had their OSU and Arizona sweatshirts split and then put them back together as half orange and half blue.

Problem solved.

Looks like this will be an interesting game for this family. Lets hope Andy gets to play.

Go Beavers!
